Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change how I buy today?+
No. You keep buying at the same auctions and listing sites. MyCarDealer simply tells you the market price, your margin and the maximum bid for every car.
Where do the prices come from?+
From publicly available listings in the country you sell in. We only compare cars of the same model and engine of similar age and mileage, and adjust prices to the parameters of your car. Cars to import are searched in auctions and listings across Europe.
Which market is the price for?+
Market price comes from current listings in your country – that is where your car will be sold. Where there are too few comparable cars we show an EU-wide estimate marked as low confidence. Listings abroad are a source of cars to buy, not the basis for the selling price.
How accurate is the valuation?+
We only compare cars of the same model, generation, body type and performance version, with power within ±10 %. For every car you see how many comparable listings the price is based on, the price range and the confidence. With fewer than 3 comparable cars in your country we show no home-market price – only an EU-wide estimate marked as low confidence; with 3 to 5 cars the price is indicative only and we never recommend “Buy”.
Does it work with auctions that require a login?+
Yes, through the Chrome extension. Open the lot in your own browser and the extension values it right on the page. You can also add lots via a link or CSV.
Do you account for VAT?+
Yes. If you are VAT-registered, we apply the VAT margin scheme at the VAT rate of your country. Registration fees and all other costs are set per dealer in settings.
Is the app in English?+
Yes – the whole app, e-mail alerts and the Chrome extension are in English. Market data come from listings in your country, so listing titles of compared cars stay in their original language.
Is there a commitment?+
No. You pay monthly by card and can cancel your subscription at any time.
What is free?+
The car valuation on this page – you will see the market price and comparable cars. The margin and maximum bid with your own costs are shown in the app with a subscription.
